About The Position

The Senior Benefit Analyst is responsible for managing and administering SCI's 401(k) plan, addressing compliance issues (e.g., ACA), and researching, evaluating, and administering company benefit programs that attract and retain associates while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. This role functions as a liaison between vendors and associates, administering all aspects of SCI's $1.8B 401k plans (one union plan and one non-union), as well as a defined contribution plan in Puerto Rico. The analyst will respond to associate inquiries, manage annual audits of retirement plans, and conduct monthly and annual ACA reviews for benefits eligibility. The position also involves reviewing 2nd level benefits appeals and supporting HR Directors and Business Partners on escalated associate issues. Additionally, the analyst coordinates the delivery of communications and educational materials to drive engagement with SCI benefits, primarily retirement plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or comparable degree.
  • Five (5) years of experience working with Defined Contribution plans and Benefits Compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of benefit terms and laws related to benefit plans such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a strong customer service focus.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with HRIS systems, preferably Workday and MS Office.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to completing responsibilities accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

  • Administers all aspects of SCI's 401(k) plans and defined contribution plan in Puerto Rico.
  • Responds to associate inquiries received through the Company's internal call center.
  • Manages annual audits of retirement plans and submission of 5500s.
  • Conducts monthly and annual ACA review for benefits eligibility.
  • Reviews 2nd level benefits appeals and provides recommended resolution.
  • Supports HR Directors and Business Partners on escalated associate issues.
  • Coordinates delivery of communications and educational materials regarding benefits.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Audits and processes payment invoices for each provider of benefit services.
  • Reviews weekly, monthly, or annual reports to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintains records and documentation for SOX audit requirements.
  • Assists in the annual enrollment process and develops benefit communications.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
