Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Senior Behavioral Health Therapist who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Senior Behavioral Health Therapist you will: • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality therapeutic care that is appropriate to the age, diagnoses, developmental state, and mental status of the clients that are assigned to their specific unit/department • Initiates and implements complete, comprehensive psychosocial assessments • Provides individual, group, and family therapies to clients and their families • Participates in and interdisciplinary treatment team to propose and develop strategies and interventions that would promote excellent therapeutic outcomes • Assists clients in their development of self-respect, dignity, integrity, and self-actualization through a multitude of traditional and adjunctive therapeutic services • Documents services provided and disseminates information/reports to community referral sources and agencies, i.e., DJS, DSS, HHS, APS, CPS, LCC, etc. • Co-Ordinates with the interdisciplinary team, referral sources, and community resources aftercare and supportive services to ensure a successful discharge planning process • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to diffuse psychotic and/or behavioral crises to ensure client, unit, and staff safety an stability B • Assesses and intervenes in cases of suspected/disclosed child/adult neglect/abuse issues • Promotes positive patient-family-community relations • Supervise interns psychotherapeutic treatment of patients and their families including individual therapy, parent collateral work, family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy. Monitors progress of patients in treatment and formally reviews treatment plan and goals regularly. Supervises interns consultation with other professionals working with the client to assure coordinated and comprehensive service delivery. • Supervises interns documentation, including maintenance of charts in a complete, timely and legible form, including parent information forms, consent forms, data collection forms, progress notes, and treatment plans and goals as required by state DHMH

  • Excellent Written and Verbal Skills Required
  • Excellent Skills in Maintaining Information as Highly Confidential Required
  • Excellent capabilities in supporting and overseeing interns clinical decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment.
  • Skilled in clinical documentation review and quality assurance measures. Multidisciplinary consultation and teaming is essential.
  • Knowledge of Psychological Disorders & Abnormal Psychology Related to Adolescents and Adults Required
  • Exceptional Conflict Resolution, Crisis Management, and Time Management Skills Required
  • Excellent Interpersonal Relationship Skills Required
  • Excellent Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, and Creativity Skills Required

  • Ability to Set Therapeutic Limits and Maintain Therapeutic Distance with Clients Required
  • Ability to Maintain Therapeutic Boundaries with Clients during Treatment and Following Discharge Required
  • Ability to Address an Prioritize Multiple Task Demands Within Established Time Frames Required
  • Ability to Use PC (Windows, E-Mail, Internet), Telephone, Xerox Machine, Television, and VCR Required
  • Requires full licensure, e.g., LCSW-C, LCPC, LCMFT or equivalent.
