Aspire Living & Learning is currently seeking a Senior Behavior Therapist to work out of one of our Approved Private Special Education Programs (ALL Academy) in Trumbull, CT, providing services to children who have been outplaced to our program due to social, behavioral, and/or academic needs. As a Behavior Therapist, you will work under the guidance of Special Education Teachers and Board-Certified Behavior Analysts to implement each student’s educational and behavioral programs. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with service providers, including School Psychologists, Speech and Language Pathologists and Occupational/Physical Therapists. Working Conditions: As a Senior Behavior Therapist dedicated to supporting children in the school setting, you'll find yourself immersed in a dynamic and impactful environment. Here's what you can expect regarding working conditions: Primary work is done within the classroom however it is expected that staff will monitor/work with students during indoor/outdoor physical activities (playground/gym); support students during academic, related service (Speech, OT, PT), and behavioral programming; and assist in toileting if applicable. This role may encounter challenging behaviors and situations, requiring patience, empathy, and effective behavior management strategies and the ability to perform Physical Management Techniques (PMT) as needed. Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Requirements

  • At least 3 months exemplary performance as a Behavior Therapist with Aspire or at least 12 months exemplary performance as a behavior therapist with another ABA provider.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g., Psychology, Special Education) strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Computer skills desired but not required
  • 1 year experience with individuals with Autism, intellectual disabilities, or other social/behavioral needs
  • 1 year experience in implementing and collecting data related to areas such as School-Wide PBS, Tier Plans, Direct Instruction, Precision Teaching, or other behavior analytic measures
  • Must have satisfactory background checks
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
