About The Position

Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™, a breakthrough supermaterial unlocking a new generation of products — from lithium–sulfur batteries and energy storage systems to concrete admixtures, lightweight composites, and next-generation sensors that are revolutionizing industries. Together, these innovations are making a massive global improvement and driving real-world impact across energy, mobility, construction, and defense. At Lyten, we believe the most meaningful careers begin with purpose — and with people who want to make a difference. We’re not just developing advanced supermaterials — we’re about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made. We’re entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators. Apply now to join our team and be part of something bigger than yourself — where collaboration, creativity, and purpose come together to build the technologies that will define the next century.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in BMS hardware or power electronics design
  • Deep understanding of lithium-ion / lithium-polymer battery systems. LFP/Li-metal/Li-S battery knowledge is a plus
  • Strong analog and mixed-signal circuit design skills
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB tools (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, etc.)
  • Comfortable in the lab: oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, thermal tools
  • Experience bringing hardware from prototype to production
  • Exposure to SOC/SOH estimation, functional safety, or safety-critical systems
  • Startup experience or desire to work in a high-ownership, fast-iteration environment

Responsibilities

  • Own BMS hardware architecture for lithium-based UAV battery packs
  • Design schematics and guide PCB layout for lightweight, high-reliability BMS designs
  • Select and integrate battery monitoring ICs, MCUs, current/temperature sensing, and protection circuits
  • Develop and validate protection and control strategies (OV/UV, OC, OT, short-circuit, cell balancing)
  • Lead hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation testing
  • Define and execute electrical, thermal, environmental, and fault-injection tests
  • Support product integration with customer-facing HIL, system integration, and flight-testing teams
  • Collaborate closely with firmware development, pack testing, and battery pack integrators.
  • Drive design reviews, DFMEA, and technical decision-making with minimal supervision

Benefits

  • In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
