About The Position

We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient. ALSO is looking for a Senior Battery Engineer to bridge the critical gap between mature product design and mass production. You will not just be designing; you will be the driving force that takes our battery packs from the lab to the assembly line. In this role, you will own the technical execution of battery modules and packs as they transition through validation and into launch.

  • Mechanical Design Improvements: Lead the Battery pack design improvements by building prototypes, DOE test plans inhouse and at CMs. Drive design for manufacturing improvements at component suppliers and FATP CMs.
  • Validation & Compliance: Ensure designs meet strict mechanical (shock/vibe), environmental (thermal/humidity), and safety (propagation/crush) requirements. You will interpret test failures and drive design tweaks to ensure passing results.
  • Global CM Management & Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical liaison with engineering headquarters and Battery Contract Manufacturers. Rigorously review First Article Inspections (FAI) and analyze CPK/PPK data to ensure the manufacturing process is stable and components meet specifications.
