Senior Backend Engineer – Python | Remote Poland 🌍
About The Position
Our client is developing AI-native security tools that automate security design reviews and threat modeling, helping engineering teams ship secure software faster, without the endless meetings and spreadsheets. You’ll be joining a small, expert team working at the cutting edge of AI, code analysis, and secure-by-design systems. The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with strong backend expertise, proven experience in designing and building scalable systems, and the ability to work independently as well as mentor others. While knowledge of AI technologies is a plus, the primary focus will be on backend development, system reliability, and performance optimization. In this role, you’ll collaborate directly with the founding team to build systems that extract, transform, and model complex codebases into graph-based architectural representations.
Requirements
- 8-10+ years of software Engineer experience, ideally building SaaS products for enterprise customers
- Experience with async programming in Python (e.g., asyncio)
- Strong experience integrating with third-party APIs and building APIs (FastAPI preferred)
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques: caching, rate limiting, profiling, and load handling
- Proficient in SQL (ideally PostgreSQL)
- Proficient working with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
- Familiar with containerized development using Docker
- Solid understanding of modern engineering practices: CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, Kanban workflows, and infrastructure as code
