The MFT and secure data exchange market is growing fast—driven by rising compliance requirements, ransomware threats, and the increasing complexity of data ecosystems. According to recent industry research, the MFT market is projected to exceed $4.0 billion by 2030, fueled by demand for automation, encryption, and auditability in data sharing. Organizations are shifting away from consumer-grade tools and turning to specialized platforms built for compliance and control. We’re one of them—and we’re just getting started. We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer with deep technical experience and strong leadership potential. This role is ideal for someone ready to roll up their sleeves in a hands-on coding environment—while building toward an eventual leadership position in our engineering team. You’ll work directly on our core PHP/LAMP-based platform, with a heavy focus on secure file transfer protocols and infrastructure running on RHEL. Your work will directly impact product performance, growth, customer experience, and future scalability.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship
10+ years of backend development experience, ideally in a SaaS or infrastructure-heavy environment
Expert-level experience in PHP and LAMP stack development
Extensive hands-on experience writing and implementing code in PHP
Strong familiarity with secure file transfer protocols: SCP, FTPS, FTPeS, SFTP
Extensive demonstrated experience with Jira administration and workflow design (company-managed projects)
Proven ability to plan and execute in Agile development environments
A market-driven mindset with a desire to build things that matter to customers
Clear communication, strong documentation habits, and a collaborative spirit

Nice To Haves

Experience with MFT platforms or secure file transfer systems
Experience with C++

Responsibilities

Write, deploy, and maintain high-quality backend code in PHP on the LAMP stack
Work extensively within a RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) OS environment
Implement and maintain support for MFT protocols including SCP, FTPS, FTPeS, and SFTP
Build and maintain Jira-based engineering quality analytics and delivering JQL dashboards
Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering team members to scope and execute new features
Contribute to architectural decisions that improve platform performance and reliability
Drive Agile development processes with a focus on delivery and continuous improvement
Identify and introduce modern coding methodologies and tools to elevate engineering output
Participate in code reviews, security assessments, and system optimization
Set the foundation for future growth into a leadership role based on performance and initiative
