About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain the core services powering a modern insurance platform. You will be responsible for developing scalable, reliable, and efficient backend systems that integrate with internal and external services, handle complex data workflows, and provide robust APIs for front-end and business applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical features, improve system performance, and mentor other engineers in a remote-first, collaborative environment. You will play a key role in shaping the technical architecture and ensuring a seamless experience for both internal teams and end users.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience building backend web applications.
  • Strong expertise in Go and experience developing production-grade systems.
  • Proven ability to deliver complete systems independently, with a focus on scalability, stability, and performance.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and data tools (GCP, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Postgres, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend systems and APIs that power core platform functionality.
  • Integrate with internal tools and external services to streamline business and engineering processes.
  • Implement systemic changes to align existing systems with current architectural goals and best practices.
  • Collaborate on architectural decisions, including service design, deployment strategies, and technology choices.
  • Work with data providers to manage real-time information flows and enhance system reliability.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers while contributing to knowledge-sharing and team growth.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives to maintain high-quality engineering practices.
