About The Position

As a Senior Backend Application Engineer, you will work as a member of a team building scalable APIs using Kotlin. Your responsibilities will include helping to build ETL pipelines to source any external data required, integrating with external service providers, writing automated tests that support the delivery of quality software, and understanding and supporting your application’s path to production. You will operate within an agile development process.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience delivering resilient, well-tested, consumer-facing web applications written in Java or Kotlin
• 3+ years of experience operating in a service-oriented environment
• 2+ years working with fundamental Java and backend application technologies: Spring Boot, Kotlin, Hibernate, JPA, Rest APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, and GIT
• 2+ years’ experience writing automated tests

Nice To Haves

• A good understanding of the fundamental technologies of the web: HTTP, SSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON
• A general understanding of containerization
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the willingness to use them
• A willingness to learn and to share your own experience
• A strong sense of ownership and engagement
