About The Position

As a Forward-Deployed Integration Engineer at Deel, you'll work at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success. You'll collaborate directly with strategic customers to understand their technical needs, then design and implement solutions that drive impact — from custom integrations and automation workflows to complex platform use cases. You'll represent Deel to our clients and our clients to Deel. This is an extremely technical and highly collaborative role where empathy, initiative, and creativity are just as important as your ability to write production-ready code.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders and external clients
  • Experience delivering client-facing solutions, whether in implementation, consulting, or embedded technical roles
  • 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack software engineer, ideally in SaaS or B2B platforms
  • Fluency in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, with deep understanding of software engineering best practices
  • Strong SQL skills, particularly with PostgreSQL — including query optimization, migrations, and modeling
  • Hands-on API development experience, validation, and performance tuning

Nice To Haves

  • Have worked in fintech, HR tech, or SaaS
  • Have experience deploying solutions in customer environments (e.g., custom scripts, middlewares, internal APIs)

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with customers to understand their technical requirements and business objectives
  • Design and implement tailored technical solutions, often using Deel's and our partner Accounting and HCMs' APIs, webhooks, and backend infrastructure
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Solutions Engineers, and Backend/Frontend Engineers to deliver both customer-specific and scalable product improvements
  • Contribute to product planning by feeding real-world customer use cases back into the roadmap
  • Build and enhance product features, debug issues, and improve reliability at 'Deel speed'
  • Provide exceptional technical support during onboarding, implementation, and post-sale expansion
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, helping enterprise customers unlock the full power of Deel
