The Senior Business Analyst (BA) position at BMO involves investigating and identifying strategies to optimize business operations and services, informing business decisions. The role requires defining business requirements to inform technology build and operations by sourcing and analyzing relevant data, reviewing and documenting business processes, and collaborating with business stakeholders. The Senior BA will source business and market data to evaluate the effect of projects on business results and assess the efficiency and performance of technology (software, hardware, and the wider IT system) to deliver expected business results. Responsibilities include identifying and analyzing malfunctions, system workflow, and troubleshooting issues raised by the business. The Senior BA will elicit requirements and analyze feasibility to ensure solutions/initiatives achieve the expected business outcomes, supporting various project teams across the project lifecycle to ensure development aligns with business requirements. The role also involves developing informative, coherent, and usable project documents for multiple stakeholders covering functional and non-functional business requirements. The Senior BA applies depth of domain and functional expertise for the assigned portfolio to drive expected business value, breaking down strategic problems, analyzing data and information to provide insights and recommendations, and building test cases to validate business requirements and End-User Testing results. The focus is primarily on business/group within BMO, with a potential broader, enterprise-wide focus. The Senior BA exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules, working independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
