About The Position

At Percepta, we bring first-class service across each market we support. As a Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer working remotely, you’ll be a part of creating and delivering amazing customer experiences, while also enjoying the satisfaction of being part of a unique culture. We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer with deep expertise in cloud network architecture who will take an active lead in designing the network architecture and security, through an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) driven approach. The focus of this role is on leading our transformation into a reliable, scalable, and well‑architected cloud foundation that supports secure networking, strong governance, and the platform capabilities required for both traditional workloads and emerging AI‑driven solutions. This is a hands-on individual contributor role who will design, build, and own solutions, not just advise on them. This role is not a traditional DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role. It is an engineering and architecture position responsible for shaping the cloud platform itself, ensuring it is a resilient, secure, and repeatable infrastructure through code environment built for long‑term growth. The individual in this position will work closely with security, data, AI, operations, and application teams to bring structure, clarity, and consistency to how we use AWS across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or engineering. Equivalent professional experience will be considered for candidates who demonstrate strong expertise in cloud platform engineering, network architecture, and AWS ecosystem design.
  • Strong understanding of AWS networking including VPC design, routing, DNS, segmentation, security groups, and connectivity patterns.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud security, identity design, encryption, governance, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with data engineering and AI workloads and the cloud infrastructure that supports them.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across technical teams.
  • Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code frameworks and modern cloud automation practices.
  • Extensive experience designing and operating AWS environments across multiple accounts.
  • Several years of hands‑on experience designing, operating, and supporting AWS environments in an enterprise or multi‑account setting.
  • Experience working in cross‑functional teams including security, operations, data engineering, and application development.
  • Experience contributing to or leading cloud platform modernization initiatives, migration activities, or the build‑out of new AWS environments.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or Advanced Networking are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain a well governed AWS environment spanning multiple accounts and workload types.
  • Establish standards for VPC design, routing, segmentation, DNS, identity models, encryption, and resource organization.
  • Guide architectural decisions to ensure alignment with security, compliance, and operational expectations.
  • Maintain and evolve tagging frameworks, guardrails, governance models, and platform design patterns.
  • Architect VPC designs across AWS Control Tower accounts, including OU structure and guardrails.
  • Design Transit Gateway routing, VPC peering, PrivateLink, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Define network segmentation, security groups, NACLs, and Route 53 Resolver DNS design.
  • Lead Terraform and CloudFormation automation for network infrastructure as code.
  • Implement network controls aligned with AWS Well-Architected and security compliance.
  • Ensure network foundations support high availability, resilience, and zero trust principles.
  • Use modern infrastructure automation frameworks to define and manage AWS resources in a consistent and repeatable way.
  • Develop reusable infrastructure modules and patterns to enforce platform standards and reduce configuration drift.
  • Implement automated validation, testing, and deployment pipelines for infrastructure changes.
  • Strengthen observability through improvements to logging, metrics, alerting, and platform analytics.
  • Partner with data and AI engineering teams to ensure the cloud platform supports secure and scalable AI workloads.
  • Provide architectural guidance for compute, storage, and networking resources required by AI systems.
  • Establish secure patterns for data access, API usage, and AI workload placement within AWS.
  • Ensure AI solutions follow cloud governance, cost controls, and security expectations across environments.
  • Collaborate with security, enterprise systems, data engineering, and application teams to ensure aligned cloud adoption.
  • Participate in technical architecture discussions and contribute AWS networking and platform expertise.
  • Document and maintain cloud standards, reference architectures, design guidelines, and operational playbooks.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor for AWS platform direction, network design, and cloud strategy.
