We are seeking a highly experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer with strong development skills in Java and Python, and a background in the airline or retail industry. This role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications using AWS, with a strong emphasis on microservices, containerization, and modern development practices.

Strong development skills in Java and Python

Experience building scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications using AWS
Experience with microservices, containerization, and modern development practices
Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL
Experience with unit testing using JUnit
Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
Experience with Maven or Gradle for build automation and dependency management
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis) databases
Experience implementing infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the technical teams, business teams, and product managers to ensure that the code that is developed meets their vision.
Align to Security/Compliance frameworks and controls requirements.
Design and develop microservices using Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL to meet functional and technical requirements.
Write clean, testable code in Java and Python, with unit testing using JUnit.
Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
Use Maven or Gradle for build automation and dependency management.
Architect and implement containerize, using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes, and cloud native applications.
Work with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis) databases.
Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Monitor, optimize, and secure cloud environments using AWS-native tools.
Optimize cloud costs and performance through monitoring, automation, and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
