About The Position
Support continued development of the Product safety strategy for the US Controls business area. As a Senior Product Safety Engineer for US Controls, you would evaluate program requirements to determine safety requirements and needed System, Software, Firmware, Hardware design assurance level. You will develop or approve Product Safety Program Plans, Fault Trees, Common Mode Analysis, and other related safety required documents, defining the Product Safety tasking across the program life cycle. You will support and lead safety engineering using model based systems engineering / digital engineering. Additionally, you will coordinate with System Design teams to define and approve hazards and mitigation provisions, and with Test teams to prepare test plans/procedures to support testing. You will prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings both internal and with customers. You will also maintain required Safety documentation (Safety Case), establishing compliance with contractual requirements and applicable regulations, investigate Product related events with safety implications to develop appropriate corrective and preventive measures, and collaborate with peers across BAE Systems Inc. in relevant working groups.
