May Mobility is transforming cities through autonomous technology to create a safer, greener, more accessible world. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, May develops and deploys autonomous vehicles (AVs) powered by our innovative Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology that literally reimagines the way AVs think. Our vehicles do more than just drive themselves - they provide value to communities, bridge public transit gaps and move people where they need to go safely, easily and with a lot more fun. We’re building the world’s best autonomy system to reimagine transit by minimizing congestion, expanding access and encouraging better land use in order to foster more green, vibrant and livable spaces. Since our founding in 2017, we’ve given more than 300,000 autonomy-enabled rides to real people around the globe. And we’re just getting started. We’re hiring people who share our passion for building the future, today, solving real-world problems and seeing the impact of their work. Join us. The Support Engineering Team ensures the continued safe and autonomous operation of the May Mobility fleet as well as aiding the autonomy team to advance our roadmap. The role of the Autonomy Support Engineers (ASEs) is to develop a broad expertise across the entire vehicle system and play a critical role as the first line of defense for remote debugging, investigating problems, and tracking issues within the fleet. The ASEs also contribute to ongoing development work through analysis of vehicle testing and curation and maintenance of vehicle datasets. Within this team, the Autonomy Support Engineer II will play a crucial role in validating the safety and functionality of our autonomous vehicle systems through comprehensive event review. They may also create simulation scenarios that help evaluate system functionality. This role is responsible for assigning observable cause for issues from the field in order to support the efforts of our Release team, Operational sites, and Autonomy Engineers. It is the team of Autonomy Support Engineers that triage the most important issues and bring them to the Autonomy development teams for resolution. For this role, the candidate would work remotely most of the time with reliable internet access and no limit on data upload/download quantity.
