About The Position

Tokyo Electron (TEL) is a leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. We provide key parts of the manufacturing process for the world’s largest foundries. TEL Technology AI and Design Inc is our Silicon Valley AI lab, where we do groundbreaking, long-term research and technology development in AI/ML for semiconductor equipment. One of our projects relates to the autonomous operation of semiconductor equipment. This project has been ongoing for several years and is in the prototype stage. We are looking for an experienced engineer who can take a lead role in enhancing the technology, which includes embedded control, complex software/hardware systems, autonomy, knowledge capture and management, and transfer learning.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience in computer science/AI research, software engineering, machine learning, scheduling and planning, or knowledge representation.
• 3+ years of experience with complex hardware and software systems.
• PhD or MSc in Computer Science or adjacent areas, or BSc with 10+ years of AI/ML/Comp Sci research excellence required.
