The Senior Automation Engineer will be a key contributor to a newly established automation team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automations across all parts of the business. The company is shifting to an automation first/AI-first approach. This role operates with a high degree of independence and is expected to work from minimal requirements, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, integrate systems, and improve data flow through intelligent automation. A successful candidate will have deep technical knowledge and be able to use scripting, APIs and AI to automate processes on cloud-based applications, both internal and external to EdgeConneX. This position will leverage enterprise automation and integration platforms such as UiPath, MuleSoft, and cloud-base databases to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure automation solutions. The role partners closely with business, IT, and data stakeholders while maintaining ownership of technical design and implementation. This is a very hands-on role that will continue to be over the course of the next 2-3 years. Serving as a hands-on Lead over a very small team is the expectation. While a very technical role, this will require a real maturity to work though the stress of a fast-paced environment for a growing company experiencing growing pains. This position reports to the VP of Corporate Functions and Enterprise Systems. This position would be ideally based in our Herndon, VA HQ with the flexibility to collaborate in a hybrid manner where working remotely 1-2 days per week would be the norm. The candidate must be capable of global travel and will likely travel 3-4 weeks per year.
