DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee). The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications and software solutions used across the firm. This includes research, new development, prototyping, enhancement, re-engineering, maintenance, and support of internally and externally facing software products on enterprise technology platforms. The software development process requires deep domain expertise in modern and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages, as well as close collaboration with business partners and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver effective solutions. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, scalability, and security of enterprise applications. This role encompasses automation development and execution, functional testing, and non-functional testing, with a strong emphasis on embedding quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle. The SDET specializes in the design, development, execution, and maintenance of automated testing solutions that validate software functionality while accounting for performance, privacy, and security requirements. You will work closely with development, product, and delivery teams to understand software requirements, develop robust automated test strategies, and integrate continuous testing into CI/CD pipelines. This role is well-suited for a hands-on technical professional who combines strong engineering skills with a quality-first mindset in a regulated, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in software testing, test automation, or SDET roles
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Jasmine)
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation and scripting
  • Advanced experience with SQL and database testing
  • Expertise in ETL testing and automation, including tools such as Talend or Informatica
  • Experience with front-end and back-end testing using Java and Selenium
  • Familiarity with performance and security testing concepts
  • Experience with AWS cloud services
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Microfocus ALM, Bitbucket, Git, and Jenkins
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with regulated environments; Capital Markets or Financial Services experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of smoke, functional, regression, and non–black box testing techniques
  • Proven ability to work effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Experience coordinating across onsite and offshore teams
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing Business Intelligence platforms such as Power BI or AWS QuickSight (preferred)
  • Experience with Snowflake data warehouse is an added advantage
  • ISTQB or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience leading or mentoring QA/SDET team members is an added advantage

Responsibilities

  • Apply expertise in software development and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies across the delivery lifecycle
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain automated test solutions to support continuous testing
  • Contribute to the design, enhancement, and maintenance of test automation frameworks
  • Ensure end-to-end traceability from user stories through test cases and automated scripts
  • Prepare, maintain, and execute test cases based on user stories; analyze results and manage defects through resolution
  • Construct end-to-end business scenarios by applying a strong understanding of business objectives and outcomes
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for one or more applications used within the organization
  • Identify, define, and manage environmental and test data requirements, including dependencies
  • Collaborate with delivery pipeline teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Track test execution results; report risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact delivery timelines
  • Research and evaluate technical solutions aligned with enterprise technology standards
  • Align risk and control considerations into day-to-day responsibilities and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, troubleshooting, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Review test cases and automation approaches with peers to ensure comprehensive coverage and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain product and testing documentation to support knowledge sharing and onboarding
  • Mentor and guide team members on test strategy, coverage, and best practices
