Now is your chance to amplify your impact, working to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. We are hiring immediately for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team in Westminster, CO. In this role, you will be responsible for writing playbooks and modules to implement hardening controls and manage configuration tools in a variety of environments at different accreditation levels. You will also play a central role in upgrading, supporting, and optimizing those tools to create a highly available, resilient, and self-healing environment. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues with the automation tools and their implementation, recommending and implementing changes to enhance, stabilize, and secure their ongoing operation.

  • Enable Maxar infrastructure teams to deploy and maintain compliant systems using standards and configuration state management tools.
  • Continuously monitor operational system performance and usage.
  • Refine tools to reduce complexity, increase reliability, and match timeliness with efficient costs.
  • Write playbooks and modules to implement hardening controls.
  • Manage configuration tools in various environments at different accreditation levels.
  • Upgrade, support, and optimize automation tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation tools.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • At least two years of software development or infrastructure engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or two additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Ability to be on call on a rotating basis.
  • Previously demonstrated experience in Linux system admin experience.
  • Experience using and/or administrating a variety of open-source technologies.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with one of all of the following: Bash/Python/Perl/Ruby.
  • Experience with Ansible Tower or AWX writing Ansible playbooks and roles.
  • Experience with Satellite and Puppet.
  • Windows system admin experience.
  • Active TS/SCI U.S. security clearance.
  • PowerShell training.
  • SCCM experience.
  • Group policy experience.
  • Imaging baselines experience.
  • OS Repositories experience.
  • Experience implementing compliance standards (e.g., STIG, CIS, NIST 800-171).
  • Cloud environment experience (AWS, Azure, GCP or other).
  • Experience using Ansible, Satellite, Ubuntu Landscape or equivalent technologies.
  • CI/CD experience.
  • Git experience.
