In this role, you will manage the needs of the Cooperage organization by serving as a technical resource focused on the automation and innovation of the woodworking process. Your responsibilities will include providing technical expertise for both existing and future automation systems, as well as focusing on training and documentation to support site-based maintenance teams. You will be required to communicate effectively with both plant and corporate leadership to ensure that the sites receive the tactical support they need while also aligning with the strategic direction of the organization. You will be responsible for high-level technical support for the cooperage's maintenance teams, which includes hands-on training, process documentation, OEM interface, and parts support. Additionally, you will design and implement system upgrades for wood processing equipment and support capital projects through technical assistance during the concept, design, and implementation phases. Ensuring adherence to Brown-Forman Global Production safety and compliance standards will be a critical aspect of your role. Your position will require you to interface with plant managers and operating and maintenance personnel to provide hands-on troubleshooting expertise, technical leadership, and project management on plant initiatives and operational improvement opportunities. You will also provide technical engineering consultation and leadership regarding controls and instrumentation, risk management, safety integration, process monitoring systems, and HMI applications. Leading the development of new or improved PLC and computer controls, process monitoring, and production data recording systems will be part of your responsibilities, as well as championing the application of beneficial technologies into plant operations. This position will be on the 3rd shift, with hours from 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
