About The Position

The Senior Installation Technician at Diversified plays a crucial role in executing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for clients. This position is pivotal as it involves direct interaction with clients and the execution of complex system designs. The technician is expected to coordinate with project management and field superintendents to fully understand their responsibilities on specific projects. The role requires interpreting drawing packages to create the basis of finished systems, which may include displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, and equipment racks. As a senior technician, this individual will be responsible for the most complex system designs, mentoring other technicians, and setting a high standard in all aspects of the job. The Senior Installation Technician will lead and delegate tasks to installation crews, subcontractors, and union trades, often taking charge of large projects. They will ensure that all work complies with Diversified's and clients' quality control standards, overseeing field operations in situations where there is no dedicated on-site superintendent. The role involves physical installation of technology in various locations, executing cabling terminations, and preparing equipment racks for staging. The technician must be able to read and understand functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams, perform mounting of base build equipment, and provide consistent technical performance while being flexible with their work schedule. This position requires the ability to complete assignments within established task durations and provide daily feedback to supervisors. The technician will also be responsible for tracking and maintaining their toolkit, company vehicles, and installation materials, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness on job sites. The role demands a high level of independence, as the technician will often be the only senior field supervisor on-site, requiring good judgment and decision-making skills. The physical demands of the job include spending significant time on their feet, climbing ladders, and lifting materials up to 40 pounds, while also adhering to safety regulations and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
