About The Position

The Technology, Infrastructure, and Architecture is looking for a Sr. Atlassian Engineer to architect, design, implementation, and operate of Jira and Confluence tools. As an expert you will drive standards and best practices to ensure quality services and sustainability. Our team partners with executive stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide transformation through scalable, governed, and collaborative delivery frameworks. Helping to cultivate adoption, lead enterprise-wide improvement, and be a trusted advisor in maturing Atlassian platforms across departments.

Requirements

• 8 years of software programming experience with 5 years of experience as an Atlassian Administrator.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong scripting skills in Groovy, Python, and JQL.
• Atlassian Jira Certifications.
• Hands on experience with API integrations, webhooks, REST APIs, Ansible and GitHub.
• Located in the Eastern or Central Time Zone (US) and have the ability to adjust working hours.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with reporting and data analysis within Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Atlassian Certified Expert.
• Experience with Atlassian Marketplace apps (e.g., ScriptRunner, Project Configurator).
• Experience with Atlassian Data Center and Cloud migrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support tool migrations, upgrades and updates, ensuring minimal or no downtime and data integrity during maintenance windows.
• Conduct regular health checks and maintenance tasks to keep the platform running smoothly.
• Stay current with Atlassian product updates, ecosystem changes, and industry best practices.
• Evaluate, install, and configure Jira plugins, Confluence macros, and integrations to extend the platform's capabilities.
• Perform Jira front-end administrative tasks as needed.
• Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Jira and Confluence.
• Document backup and recovery processes and train relevant staff members.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and fix issues related to Atlassian tools and database servers.
• Monitor system performance and usage, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed.
