About The Position

The IT Operations - SaaS team is responsible for the SaaS solutions that Datadog employees around the world use on a daily basis to successfully do their jobs. This role elevates the Atlassian domain within the SaaS stack, with responsibility for standards, integrations, automations, governance, and strategic roadmap planning. At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

  • You have experience with automation and Atlassian APIs.
  • You are familiar with regulated environments including SOC II, SOX and FedRAMP.
  • You have excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills: you can explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, lead workshops or training, and partner cross-functionally.
  • You have a passion for learning new tools and technologies while working in a fast-paced, high growth startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead SME for all Atlassian systems: architecture, design, configuration, customization, and scaling of Jira and Confluence (and related add-ons/apps).
  • Define and enforce best practices, governance frameworks and security controls for our Atlassian tools (user access, permissions, licensing, change management, audit/compliance).
  • Design and implement advanced workflows, automations, integrations (APIs, webhooks, scripting, add-on architecture) that connect Atlassian tools with other SaaS platforms and internal systems.
  • Collaborate with other SaaS administrators, IT Operations, DevOps, Engineering and Security teams to ensure that Atlassian systems are aligned with broader IT strategy, compliance (e.g., data privacy, access control), disaster recovery, and change management policies.
  • Work with vendor partners and Atlassian-ecosystem solution providers: evaluate new apps/extensions, manage licensing & renewal strategy, negotiate service levels and support escalations.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for the IT Support team on Atlassian related issues and participate in an on-call rotation.

Benefits

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
