About The Position

Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm with nearly four decades of experience, is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join our New York office. This role focuses on New York Labor Law (Sections 240/241) and General Liability litigation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator who wants meaningful responsibility, hands-on litigation experience, and the support of a collaborative legal team. You’ll manage your own caseload with autonomy, while working alongside seasoned partners who offer mentorship, insight, and support.
You will be responsible for managing a full caseload involving New York Labor Law and general liability claims. This is a hybrid position with a flexible mix of remote and in-office work.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in New York (required)
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience handling NYS Labor Law Sections 240/241 and general liability matters
• Strong background in civil defense litigation, including pleadings, motions, depositions, and discovery
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to independently manage deadlines and case strategy
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience in mediation, arbitration, or trial is a plus
• Dual licensure in CT, PA, NJ, or another jurisdiction is a plus

Responsibilities

• Handling all phases of litigation from intake through resolution or trial
• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
• Conducting legal research and analysis
• Taking and defending depositions
• Attending court conferences, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Communicating with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
• Collaborating with partners on litigation strategy
