Your key responsibilities As a Senior Associate with EY‑Parthenon’s Corporate Finance – Business Valuation practice, you will work on a range of valuation, transaction and strategic corporate finance matters, partnering with management and deal teams across acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, financial reporting and tax engagements, with a focus on key value drivers. You will also support portfolio, capital allocation and scenario analyses, translating rigorous financial modeling into clear, decision‑oriented insights for senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in business valuation, corporate finance, transaction advisory or a closely related analytical role; or a relevant graduate degree with approximately 18+ months of applicable experience.
  • Demonstrated experience performing valuation analyses for transactions, financial reporting or tax purposes, with the ability to explain valuation conclusions in a broader strategic and deal context.
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities, including building models from scratch (e.g., DCF, transaction, scenario and sensitivity analyses) and applying them to both valuation and strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business performance, value drivers and investment alternatives, and translate complex analysis into clear, decision-oriented insights.
  • A proven record of solving complex problems, managing multiple workstreams and delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with client management and deal teams.
  • You must either reside in or be in a commutable distance to your office location for this position.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior valuation experience within professional services or a Big 4 firm, with exposure to transaction or deal-related engagements.
  • Experience applying financial modeling and valuation techniques to strategic corporate finance questions such as investment analysis, portfolio evaluation or capital allocation.
  • Progress toward, or completion of, a CFA designation, or equivalent credentials demonstrating strong financial and analytical training.
  • Experience leveraging firm‑approved analytics and AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to enhance analytical efficiency and insight generation.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on complex valuation matters across acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings and financial reporting, including purchase price allocations and valuations of equity, debt and intangible assets.
  • Support management and investors with forward-looking analyses such as portfolio optimization, capital allocation, business unit prioritization, and scenario analysis to inform strategic and investment decisions.
  • Partner with deal teams and client management throughout the transaction lifecycle, translating valuation outputs into actionable insights that inform negotiations, structuring, and strategic alternatives.
  • Build and review sophisticated financial models from the ground up (DCF, LBO, scenario and sensitivity analyses), integrating operating, strategic and capital structure considerations.
  • Understand how valuation conclusions impact accounting, financial reporting and regulatory requirements, particularly in the context of business combinations and complex capital structures.
  • Perform valuations for U.S. tax purposes and collaborate with tax professionals to assess valuation implications of alternative structures, capital deployment strategies and reorganizations.
  • Clearly communicate complex financial and strategic concepts to senior executives, boards and investors, with the ability to tailor insights to decision-makers rather than purely technical audiences.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment, intellectual curiosity and the ability to operate in ambiguous environments, balancing technical precision with pragmatic, client-oriented solutions.
  • Act as a strong team player who can mentor junior professionals, collaborate across strategy, transaction and tax teams, and adapt quickly to changing client priorities and deadlines.

Benefits

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.
  • The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $95,200 to $157,100.
  • The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $114,200 to $178,500.
  • Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
  • In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
