About The Position

This role provides an exciting opportunity to support Chase’s strategy, partnerships and corporate development functions related to the emerging crypto / blockchain / digital asset ecosystem. The Corporate Development team at JPMorgan Chase is broadly responsible for strategic partnerships across the firm's consumer lines of business – including the Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Wealth Management, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, and Auto Lending. These partnerships are critical to the firm's ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem. The Crypto team specifically has three primary functions, 1) working with the lines of business on digital asset strategy, 2) building connections to the external ecosystem of startups and established companies in the crypto ecosystem, and 3) evaluating / negotiating / executing both partnerships and acquisitions to support the strategy. As a Senior Associate on the Consumer & Community Bank Corporate Development team focused on crypto, you will play a key role in strategy, growth, and execution of new business opportunities across crypto, blockchain and digital assets. You will work closely with lines of business to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to Chase, and determine what partnerships will deliver value for Chase’s customers. You have deep knowledge of the crypto / blockchain ecosystem, outstanding analytic skills and can build strong relationships, and have a passion for consumer financial services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of experience in the crypto / blockchain / digital assets ecosystem with a focus on financial services
  • 4+ years of partnership, strategic alliance, or deal execution experience
  • Experience formulating business strategy, including structuring problems, completing analysis, and making recommendations
  • Project management experience in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to new or ambiguous situations without significant assistance
  • Deep analytical skills, including understanding of common financial statements and ability to build financial models in Excel
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate to senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Sense of urgency with disposition to execute and a demonstrated career of successful partnership and/or deal execution
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Develop partnership strategy with the lines of business, including identifying key elements of the strategy, completing analysis, and making recommendation
  • Work cross-functionally within Chase and JPMC and with external partners to identify, negotiate, and execute key partnerships and acquisitions that drive business results and support the business strategy
  • Develop and help deliver specific partner proposals with the lines of business, including overall vision, partnership economics, and product integration
  • Work in conjunction with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop financial business case, deal constructs and other key terms associated with partnership
  • Monitor external environment for important competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and communicate more broadly to key line of business partners as necessary
  • Ensure all deals and business development is executed in accordance with policies, controls, key functional partners, and Corporate Development procedures
