Requirements

  • At least 1 year in valuation, audit advisory, or closely related finance roles at a valuation consultancy, Big 4/national firm, or specialized boutique.
  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting valuations—exposure to ASC 805 (PPA), ASC 350 (impairment), ASC 718/IRC 409A (equity comp), and ASC 820 (fair value)—and comfort defending assumptions with evidence.
  • Proven ability to manage your own workstreams across multiple concurrent projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate in review cycles.
  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics (Master’s a plus). Progress toward CFA, ASA, ABV, or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel (checks, sensitivity analysis, scenario modeling) and strong writing; familiarity with Capital IQ/PitchBook (or similar) is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Analytical and curious—you ask great questions and connect dots quickly.
  • Organized and proactive—you anticipate needs and keep workstreams moving.
  • Team-oriented—you take ownership of your work and elevate those around you.
  • Client-minded—you translate analysis into practical, plain-English insights.

Responsibilities

  • Execute core workstreams: Build Income/DCF, Market, and Cost approach models; create supporting schedules (WACC/discount rates, guideline public and transaction comps, contributory asset charges, relief-from-royalty).
  • Support complex capital structures: Prepare or assist with OPM/PWERM and Monte Carlo/lattice models for equity comp and complex securities; calibrate conclusions to observed transactions when applicable.
  • Deliver clear, defensible work: Maintain clean workpapers and version control; draft well-supported report sections; perform meticulous self-review; assemble audit-ready documentation for ASC 820, 805, 350, 718, and 409A assignments.
  • Surface insights & risks: Translate analysis into decision-useful takeaways; flag data gaps, assumptions, and review comments early and propose fixes.
  • Stakeholder support: Help prepare responses to auditor/reviewer inquiries; participate in select client and auditor calls with VP/Director guidance.
  • Project discipline: Track tasks, timelines, and budget status; use firm templates and tools to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Team & process: Coach Associates/Interns on modeling and workpaper hygiene; contribute to template/process improvements and internal trainings.
