About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Associate to join our firm. As a Senior Associate you will be supporting our Estate and Trust tax team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough research, analysis, and review of complex tax matters related to estates and trusts. You will provide expert advice and guidance on tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and gifts. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax compliance and planning, with a focus on estates and trusts and high-net-worth individuals.
  • CPA eligible, CPA preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in using tax software systems such as, Sure Prep, GEMs, CCH Axcess, Microsoft Suites, and Adobe.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in researching, reviewing, and planning complex tax matters.
  • Experience working with individuals

Nice To Haves

  • Strong technical knowledge of fiduciary tax, gift and estate tax compliance issues and estate planning
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals living abroad including estate planning.
  • Strong knowledge of international tax issues and cross-border transactions as it relates to estates and trusts.
  • Ability to read, interpret and summarize trust documents.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing complex gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns, including related schedules and forms
  • Reviewing of fiduciary accountings for estates and trusts
  • Providing tax planning and consulting to our firm’s high net worth client for estate and individual income taxes
  • Researching and consulting on various estate, gift, and trust related issues, such as trustee and beneficiary issues, Crummey obligations, and generation skipping tax issues.
  • Mentoring staff
  • Researching and drafting memorandum involving complex tax matters
