As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for working with business partners to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One and applying your risk/process management and analytical skills to drive well-managed risk activities. Additionally, building win-win partnerships with multiple business stakeholders as well as across ESM, while adapting to and managing change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, are essentials for this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 2 years of experience with Process Management or Project Management
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a Risk Management field

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Business Process Management (BPM), Six Sigma or Lean process improvement techniques
  • 3+ years of experience in Third Party Management
  • 2+ years experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools
  • 2+ years experience in controls development, controls management, and reporting activities

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with 1st line partners, 2nd lines of defense (Compliance, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management) and 3rd line of defense (Audit)
  • Proactively analyze risk trends, identifying signs of changing risk levels and areas of emerging risk for ESM including reporting on risk topics to management
  • Advise and support annual Process Level Assessments (PLAs) and annual/off-cycle Process Criticality Assessments (PCAs); discuss risk profiles with ESM stakeholders to ensure these assessments reflect the current business processes and practices
  • Drive risk management process improvements across ESM
  • Manage oversight of the ESM control suite and serve as main contact for Business Controls Testing, control associations, SOC 2 Testing, and ad hoc control quality assurance (QA)
  • Serve as Issue Manager for ESM owned Issues and project manager for remediation activities
  • Maintain ESM's Business Continuity Plan as Plan Manager
  • Assist ESM ARO QA, due diligence, and reporting functions, as needed
  • Lead other advisory or risk projects, as needed
