Job Description Summary The Senior Associate, Security is responsible for implementing and integrating electronic security systems (access control, VMS, IDS), coordinating with project managers and conducting security audits and assessments across facilities, projects and generation sites. The role supports daily security operations and interacts with security integrators and service providers to ensure effective protection measures. It uses qualitative and quantitative information to assess and anticipate global threats to personnel, facilities, and business operations. The position also supports the Travel Security Program by developing and maintaining international Travel Security Briefings for employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, criminal justice, political science, security management or relevant field.
  • Minimum five years of security experience (corporate, public, private, or military), including three years in a leadership role.
  • Strong ability to work independently or collaboratively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of relevant local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with industry peers, regulatory bodies, and law enforcement.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of regulatory standards such as NERC‑CIP and ISPS/MTSA (preferred)
  • CPP, PSP, or equivalent certification
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to facilities on the selection, implementation, and operation of physical security systems and measures.
  • Liaise with construction, facilities, and IT project managers to ensure security requirements are integrated into project planning, design, execution, and commissioning.
  • Support the review, development, and revision of security governance documents, including standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Assist with security investigations and related fact‑finding activities.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, and enhancement of tools, processes, and technologies that support the security function.
  • Deliver security briefings on topics affecting the safety of employees, facilities, and company assets.
  • Measure, evaluate, and continuously improve the effectiveness of security programs and processes.
  • Develop, track, and maintain metrics that quantify the performance and productivity of the security team.
  • Support the collection and dissemination of security lessons learned and best practices to drive improvement.
  • Assist with the design, testing, and implementation of business continuity and recovery solutions for critical operations, and support response efforts during incidents.
  • Perform other duties as required to support organizational goals.
