About The Position

The Security Associate, Operation Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security alarm systems, including intrusion detection, video, and access control systems. This role ensures all systems operate effectively to protect personnel, property, and assets. This position supports various UL-certified areas and adheres to compliance standards specified by UL, ICD, and JFAN, NISPOM CFR-32 Part 117.

Requirements

  • Able to be granted and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Required active TS/SCI Security Clearance for certain areas and systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and low-voltage electronics.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and applicable codes (e.g., UL 2050, UL 681, ICD-705, NISPOM 32-CFR Part 117).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various environments (indoors/outdoors).
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Capable of operating Boom and Scissor Lifts

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and test alarm systems, including Open Storage Area/SAPF/SCIF systems.
  • Oversee new alarm installations, including system programming and setup.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tests and annual inspections to ensure system reliability.
  • Provide technical support and training to users on system operation and procedures.
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills related to card readers, doors, gates, and turnstiles.
  • Respond to alarms, troubleshoot systems, receivers, and servers, ensuring compliance with ICD-705, NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117 standards.
  • Administer access control configurations, new card reader installations, and data communication setups.
  • Server maintenance background including hardware and software configuration
  • Install and interface IP cameras with various equipment.
  • Respond to video alarms and troubleshoot camera and data loss issues.
  • Maintain a response time of 4 hours for non-critical alarms and immediate response for critical issues.
  • Ensure that all UL certifications and related documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare for annual inspections and audits by UL and DCSA, keeping all necessary records and certifications
  • Install and maintain IDS equipment per UL and Industry Standards
