About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Associate, Scientific Communications on the Medical Affairs Team to help us expand what's possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Executive Director, Head of Scientific Communications & Publications, you'll support the implementation of the global Scientific Communications strategic and tactical plan for the assigned therapeutic area(s) and product(s). This role offers an opportunity to manage impactful scientific communications that support Medical Affairs objectives and enhance understanding of key therapeutic areas among healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • You have a minimum of an advanced degree in life sciences or related field preferred (PhD, PharmD, or MD) along with 1+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or medical communications agency, with a focus on scientific communications or medical affairs.
  • Knowledge of relevant guidance including, but not limited to PhRMA code on interactions with Healthcare Providers, CMS Open Payments reporting, and Federal Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Understanding of medical communication strategies and tactics
  • Excellent scientific writing and editing skills.
  • Experience with medical/legal/regulatory review processes
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within collaborative and cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with document management systems (e.g. SharePoint, Veeva MedComms, SmartSheets) preferred and familiarity with digital communication platforms

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the global medical communication strategy, including management of the timelines for development for key activities including, field medical tools and resources, medical backgrounders and other scientific programs that communicate important information to the medical and scientific community
  • Manage the submission of materials to the Medical Review Committee including coordinating with medical, legal, and regulatory teams during the review process for scientific materials
  • Support identification of country-level need for scientific materials and lead the localization process
  • Identify potential timeline risks, issues, and deviations from plans, and collaborate to implement solutions.
  • With Global medical Training, track development Medical Affairs training needs on disease, data, new materials and upcoming educational activities
  • Manage external vendors/medical agencies assisting with medical content planning and execution
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of scientific communication activities.
