About The Position

The Business Cards & Payments (BC&P) organization at Capital One is dedicated to supporting small business owners through financial products and services offered via corporate clients, aiming to enable them to do more business. This role is for a Product Manager on the Payment, Options & Terms team, specifically owning the product strategy for BC&P’s product swaps capability. The successful candidate will design end-to-end flows to provide customers with the best product for them, using customer feedback and performance data to prioritize use cases. The role involves acting as a product manager for a tech team, managing the backlog, submitting intake requests, reviewing requirements, removing roadblocks, and resolving issues. Capital One is looking for a Product Manager with demonstrated interest and aptitude for AI, valuing candidates who have proactively incorporated AI into personal projects, explored AI-driven development environments (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot), or built automations using AI agents beyond basic text generation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of product management experience or at least 1 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude for AI (proactively incorporated AI into personal projects, explored AI-driven development environments, or built automations using AI agents beyond basic text generation)

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy for BC&P’s product swaps capability where you’ll help design the E2E flow to provide customers with the product that is best for them
  • Use a combination of customer feedback and performance data to prioritize the potential use cases
  • Be the product manager for a tech team where you maintain the backlog, submit new intake requests, review requirements, remove roadblocks, and escalate/resolve issues when possible
  • Collaborate with tech teams to build comprehensive acceptance criteria, identifying and elevating any need for additional research to define future feature design
  • Breakdown business epics into features and further into user stories, driving your team towards lowest effort or Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for a valid feature test
  • Effectively use hypothesis-driven assessment of data to ensure your product or feature delivers on real business needs
  • Own and prioritize feature development roadmaps, ensuring all necessary processes and procedures are followed to manage risk
  • Work autonomously in an agile environment, to conduct research and develop features that utilize new and evolving technology
  • Collaborate with designers, technologists, data scientists and subject-matter experts to build cutting edge solutions to help customers
  • Deliver well-managed product platforms for customers by seeking to understand technology trends and architecture strategy
  • Actively participate in horizontal forums, harnessing a network of trusted relationships among tech teams, designers, key internal stakeholders and partner teams
  • Articulate a succinct product roadmap to deliver business value and share with stakeholders, elevating your team’s results and becoming a product matter expert
