Senior Associate, Product Development & Management
About The Position
The Retail Annuities Business is seeking to hire a Senior Associate for the Product Management team who will support product development and management efforts across several product lines (with a focus on Variable Annuities & Guaranteed Income Annuities). The Senior Associate will also conduct research on existing products and the distribution landscape of annuity solutions. They will support cross-functional initiatives and ensure our offerings remain competitive, consumer-focused and aligned with the company's mission and profitability goals. This position will report to the Guaranteed Income Annuity & Variable Annuity Product Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
- 3-5+ years of professional work experience in financial services.
- Strong research, analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent communicator who can express ideas in writing and orally in an eloquent and engaging manner.
- Understanding of annuity product design, product positioning and distribution markets a plus.
- Experience using data and analytics to inform product decisions using tools such as Excel; familiarity with business case development desirable.
- Demonstrates high energy and a passion for work.

Responsibilities
- Lead highly analytical product initiatives and projects
- Contribute to and support initiatives that bring products through the end-to-end product development lifecycle - from concept and market research to business case development, platform specifications, implementation and launch.
- Support in steering cross-functional resources in a collaborative way to meet business objectives.
- Support in educating and training our sales specialists about new product ideas and sales concepts.
- Support in driving product approval/on-boarding and business development opportunities with strategic third-party firms.
- Prepare written summaries for senior management covering new product ideas, project status updates and developments within the annuity marketplace.
- Research competitor's income generating products issued in the insurance and asset management industries.
- Complete competition research projects as warranted by developments/conditions. Track competitor events, including monitoring new product and feature launches, as well as corporate level news - alerting appropriate stakeholders as needed.
