Responsibilities The Associate Process Safety Engineer assists with the continual improvement of Eastman's Process Safety Management System (PSMS) as defined in the Corporate Process Safety Policy, which is based on the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS)'s 20 Element model for Risk Based Process Safety. This role supports all Eastman sites. This is a part-time position that will work 24 hours per week. The focus of this role is to assist in two main areas of the 20 Element model: Build the areas of PSM Auditing and Risk Evaluation. Assist in selected areas of PSM auditing while mentoring others on the methodology and providing mentorship Serve as a thought leader on an overall cost competitiveness effort within the Risk Evaluation Space Build in the Incident Investigation Space. Participate and/or lead high level incident investigations with the goal to mentor less experienced investigators to sharpen their skills and prepare them for taking on lead investigator roles in future investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required
  • 15+ years of experience required in the areas of Process Safety Management required, including the following specific experience:
  • Lead Investigator on significant incidents
  • At least 5 years experience with PSM auditing
  • Advanced Investigator Qualification
  • Familiarity with corporate Process Safety SOPs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
