Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Associate Pharmacy & Clinical Services to join our growing team in San Diego, CA or Las Vegas, NV. The Senior Associate Pharmacy & Clinical Services will provide strategic guidance on pharmacy benefits, clinical programs, and cost-management solutions, leveraging their PharmD expertise and industry knowledge. This role offers leadership growth opportunities, combining hands-on consulting with director-level responsibilities to drive impactful healthcare transformation for employers and employees.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • 5-7 years of experience in pharmacy benefits consulting, PBM strategy, or clinical services within consulting, PBM, or managed care organizations.
  • Strong expertise in PBM operations, high-cost claimant management, pharmacy contracting, and the U.S. healthcare system.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with a proven ability to drive results across complex client engagements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Commitment to delivering client-centric solutions and driving measurable impact.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree in health-related fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize pharmacy benefit strategies to align with organizational goals, cost containment, and employee satisfaction.
  • Provide clinical oversight on formulary management, specialty drug utilization , and therapeutic class reviews.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of PBM arrangements, contracts, and performance metrics, delivering actionable recommendations.
  • Lead RFP development, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiations for pharmacy and clinical services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including actuarial, analytics, and compliance—to deliver integrated strategies.
  • Evaluate and recommend clinical programs addressing chronic disease management, specialty drug adherence, and wellness initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage specialty drug utilization , chronic disease programs, and patient adherence.
  • Oversee high-cost claimant management, refining case management programs to improve clinical outcomes and achieve cost savings.
  • Stay current on emerging drug therapies, biosimilars, and regulatory trends, proactively advising clients on their impact.
  • Ensure ongoing oversight of case management programs, driving both clinical improvements and financial performance.
  • Identify and address gaps in care, ensuring alignment with client cost-containment and patient care objectives
