Senior Associate - International Tax Compliance

About The Position

As a Senior Associate in the U.S. international tax compliance team at JPMorgan, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing U.S. international tax forms (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, etc.) for JPMorganChase’s U.S. consolidated return. This role ensures accurate, timely, and well‑documented filings. You will also collaborate with Tax Accounting, Tax Planning, and non‑U.S. tax teams to determine JPMorganChase’s quarterly foreign tax credit (FTC) position, drive process improvements, manage U.S. tax provision calculations for non-U.S. operations, partner with the Tax Planning team, support the Tax Audit team, monitor tax law developments, coordinate with external advisors, conduct ad hoc U.S. international tax research, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of international tax experience, with 2+ years focused on U.S. international tax.
  • Strong command of key concepts including foreign tax credits, GILTI, BEAT, and Subpart F.
  • Experience in public accounting and/or working with a U.S.-based multinational is required.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree with an emphasis in tax, or an MST and/or a CPA license, is preferred.
  • Experience with Alteryx, BI tools, and SAP is a plus.
  • Experience using Gen AI tools in developing solutions for tax workflows is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review U.S. international tax forms (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, etc.) included in JPMorganChase’s U.S. consolidated return, ensuring accurate, timely, and well‑documented filings.
  • Collaborate with Tax Accounting, Tax Planning, and non‑U.S. tax teams to determine JPMorganChase’s quarterly foreign tax credit (FTC) position by basket; prepare supporting analyses and maintain robust workpapers.
  • Drive process improvements and standardization across compliance and provision workflows; contribute to control enhancements and documentation best practices.
  • Ownership of current and deferred U.S. tax provision calculations for non‑U.S. operations; coordinate with Tax Accounting on timelines, controls, and documentation.
  • Partner with the Tax Planning team to model the U.S. tax impact of corporate actions.
  • Support the Tax Audit team by preparing responses, maintaining audit‑ready files, and helping drive appropriate resolution of audits.
  • Monitor developments in relevant international tax laws and U.S. international tax rules; assess and communicate impacts to affected stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external advisors on tax return preparation and projects; review work product for technical accuracy and alignment with internal positions and timelines.
  • Conduct ad hoc U.S. international tax research.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both in writing and verbally.
