Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
• 8+ years of experience providing counsel
• Experience collaborating across a matrixed business and legal environment
• Proven excellent legal research, writing and communication skills
• Proven skills in managing multiple and competing priorities

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the delivery of legal services and related support to our state regulatory team
• Fostering key regulatory relationships and working with state regulators on a daily basis
• Collaborating with colleagues across the UnitedHealth Group legal department
• Proactively identifying and resolving legal and related matters impacting
• Assisting in the review, preparation and negotiation of various products, documents and contracts
• Participating in and leading negotiations with key customers and vendors
• Developing best practices for addressing emerging legal and business risks
• Supporting the development and delivery of new products
• Working in partnership with the Compliance team
• Counseling senior management on strategic business initiatives
• Managing outside counsel
