The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking a Financial Risk Specialist to work with various teams including Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Quantitative Risk Management. The role involves supporting analytical activities around controls rationalization and enterprise risk assessments. The candidate will learn and develop financial risk and GRC knowledge through practical experience and ongoing training, promoting efficiency and effectiveness in FRM’s control environment. Responsibilities include issue lifecycle management, risk identification, control assessment, and reporting processes using tools like MetricStream, Archer GRC, or Excel. The position also requires conducting root cause analysis, training staff, and supporting business units during regulatory examinations. The candidate will monitor and document remediation activities, prepare closure documentation, and implement internal policies and procedures. Additionally, the role involves leveraging SQL tools or Alteryx for data extraction, developing automated risk reporting systems, and analyzing risk data using Excel Power Query and Tableau. Up to 40% telecommuting is permitted.

  • Work with Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Quantitative Risk Management teams to support analytical activities.
  • Learn and develop financial risk and GRC knowledge through practical experience and ongoing training.
  • Perform issue lifecycle management risk identification, control assessment, issue remediation, and reporting processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of data defects and author Key Procedural Controls Instances (KPCi).
  • Train RAS staff on FRM’s processes and GRC practices.
  • Support business units during regulatory examinations and internal or external reviews.
  • Resolve issues discovered during examinations, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor, coordinate, support, and document remediation activities.
  • Prepare summary of remediation activities and closure documentation.
  • Implement internal policies, procedures, processes, controls, and risk statements.
  • Identify and implement enhancements for increased efficiency.
  • Leverage SQL tools or Alteryx for data extraction and automated risk reporting.
  • Analyze operational and financial risk data using Excel Power Query and Tableau.
  • Implement risk management policies consistent with best practices.
  • Develop data-driven processes with Python or Power BI for interactive visualization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Financial Risk Specialist, Business Risk Specialist, Financial Analyst, or related.
  • Experience with SQL tools or Alteryx for data extraction and cleaning.
  • Experience analyzing operational and financial risk data using Excel Power Query and Tableau.
  • Experience performing issue lifecycle management using MetricStream, Archer GRC, or Excel.
  • Experience developing data-driven processes with Python or Power BI.
