Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a dedicated and experienced advancement professional for the role of Senior Associate Director of Advancement. This position will primarily support the Siteman Cancer Center and the School of Medicine by focusing on individual donor and grateful patient/family giving. The Siteman Cancer Center Advancement team plays a crucial role in raising private support for cancer research, education, and community program priorities across both the Siteman Cancer Center and the Washington University School of Medicine. The Senior Associate Director will report directly to the Executive Director of Advancement and will be responsible for managing a caseload of leadership giving prospects and donors. The primary focus of this role will be to build meaningful relationships that will help grow the leadership and major gift pipeline, increase annual fund contributions, and secure unrestricted support for both Siteman and the School of Medicine. Collaboration with colleagues across the University and Medical Advancement is essential to achieve these goals. In this role, the Senior Associate Director will engage in various activities aimed at the acquisition, retention, and reacquisition of prospects, particularly those capable of giving between $25,000 and $249,000. The position will involve qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding assigned prospects and donors to elevate their support to leadership and major gift levels. The Senior Associate Director will work closely with fellow advancement gift officers to identify potential fund donors, manage stewardship and solicitation strategies, and articulate the need for support through effective communication. Additionally, the role will involve drafting correspondence for faculty members and leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork, and performing other duties as assigned.
