About The Position

The Senior Associate Director of Employer Relations at Pratt Institute is responsible for managing recruitment strategies and enhancing industry relations to support students and alumni in their career development. This role involves overseeing employer programming, coaching students, and collaborating with faculty to create effective recruitment events and professional development opportunities. The position requires a deep understanding of industry trends and the ability to cultivate relationships with employers across various sectors.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years' experience working within industry, Human Resources, organizational development, and/or business development.
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships with employers and gather and analyze data to generate reports on high growth, emerging, and critical industries and occupations.
  • Knowledge and experience working with a variety of audiences and constituencies.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and work cooperatively in a team-based environment.
  • Knowledge of Labor Market and landscape of the art and design industry.
  • Superior organization skills, excellent customer service and communication skills, and relationship building skills with employer partners, staff, faculty, and students.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the employer relations team (two associate directors and one coordinator).
  • Develop and assess employer relations strategy.
  • Lead and initiate an Employer Relations Advisory Board.
  • Cultivate new relationships with employers across all industries to identify and secure potential job and internship opportunities for Pratt students.
  • Organize large scale career fairs and information sessions for students and alumni.
  • Partner with alumni to develop employment and mentorship opportunities.
  • Develop creative recruitment programming and skill building with external partners.
  • Assist students in exploring and evaluating career paths, creating career action plans, and effectively branding and marketing themselves.
  • Conduct and interpret career development assessments to measure student career interests, values, and skills.
  • Act as lead liaison to the School of Design and develop an annual strategy for engagement.
  • Maintain awareness of curriculum and industry trends.
  • Design discipline-specific programming and events based on faculty requests.
  • Collaborate with campus partners in all schools and divisions on workshops and coaching.
  • Track employer relations program outcomes, student learning outcomes in internships, and student employment rates.
  • Compile employer data from Handshake and create semesterly and annual reports on employer engagement.
