About The Position

The Senior Associate Dean of the College for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Brown University plays a pivotal role in overseeing the College's advising programs and initiatives aimed at fostering an inclusive environment for all undergraduates. This position involves strategic leadership in developing policies and practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the College and the broader University context. The incumbent will chair the College's Anti-Racism and Diversity & Inclusion Action Plan Committee and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that programs and policies are effectively integrated and serve the diverse undergraduate population.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree required.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in academic advising and/or leading diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
  • Proven track record of inclusive, mission-driven leadership in a shared decision-making environment.
  • Experience in program administration, including planning, development, implementation, and assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience advocating for diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic divisional leadership on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the College and across the University.
  • Chair the College's Anti-Racism and Diversity & Inclusion Action Plan Committee.
  • Direct and execute programmatic strategies to support Brown's undergraduates.
  • Collaborate with Deputy Deans of the College to ensure inclusive advising and curricular practices.
  • Work closely with various campus departments to structure College programs inclusively and integrate policy changes effectively.
