About The Position

The Role As a Senior Associate on the 5500-QDRO team, you will be responsible for working with clients to complete government Form 5500 filings for DB, DC, and Health & Welfare plans for a book of business containing clients with small to large plans . You will work on plans of varying complexity and be responsible for keeping current with ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations . Other responsibilities for this position include managing the relationships with clients’ service providers – such as auditors, trustees, record keepers, and insurance agents ; act ing as a technical resource for clients, colleagues, and various internal business partners ; peer - review ing the work of Associates on the team ; and serv ing as a mentor for Associates on the team . You may also provide support for our QDRO (Qualified Domestic Relations Order) processing activities. Requirements

  • Specific experience with Form 5500 and related filings ( absolute requirement for role )
  • Specific experience with Form 5500 filing software (FT William, Relius, EFast , etc.)
  • 7 + years working with DB, DC, or Health & Welfare plans
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ex ceptional c lient consulting skills
  • Excellent coaching skills
  • D eep understanding of form 5500 and related filing work
  • T echnically inclined with application experience and proficiency (e. g. - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database tools , ad-hoc query development , etc.)
  • S trong project management skills , the ability to balance/prioritize multiple projects , and an understanding of risk and time management
  • A bility to work within budgeted timeframes to maintain client profitability without sacrificing quality
  • I mpressive oral and written communication skills
  • F ocus on quality, details, and meeting client expectations

Responsibilities

  • Act ing as a subject matter expert for questions regarding 5500 services to our internal business partners and colleagues .
  • Keep ing current with ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations regarding 5500 reporting.
  • Work ing with Fidelity colleagues, clients, and third parties to onboard new clients.
  • Accurate, efficient, and timely prepar ation of Form 5500 filings and provid ing related consulting for DB, DC, H&W and Puerto Rico benefit plans.
  • Work ing with minimal supervision and effectively prioritiz ing workload based upon urgency, product/client importance, client/business partner expectations, and team goals.
  • Develop ing strong relationships with clients – including their service providers (auditors, recordkeepers, and insurance agents), and internal business partners – including Managing Directors, Operations Delivery Leaders, Consultants, COE colleagues, and Account Managers.
  • Peer-review ing the work of junior colleagues on the team and provid ing mentorship.
  • Work ing on special projects.
  • Review ing /Qualify ing Domestic Relations Orders and prepar ing communications for involved parties.
