The Senior Associate, Client CIO (CCIO) position sits within TIFF’s client-facing team, which partners with nonprofit organizations to develop strategic asset allocation frameworks and investment portfolios. The role bridges analytical rigor with client service, supporting both ongoing client relationships and new prospect development. As a Senior Associate, you will gain increasing independence over time in client-facing responsibilities and relationship management.

  • Develop expertise in TIFF’s investment philosophy and approach and translate it into effective, high-quality client and prospect materials.
  • Conduct financial and portfolio analyses to support strategic asset allocation, investment program design, and policy guidance.
  • Evaluate and synthesize portfolio performance drivers within the context of capital markets and TIFF’s offerings, contributing to quarterly and ad hoc deliverables.
  • Engage directly with clients and prospects, attending meetings, capturing priorities, and supporting senior team members in delivering tailored advice.
  • Prepare and present materials addressing client needs related to investment strategy, governance, policy, and market conditions.
  • Collaborate across TIFF teams (investment, operations, risk, and client development) to gather data and insights that inform client work, presentations, and thought leadership.
  • Lead or contribute to special projects that enhance client service, prospecting efforts, or internal initiatives.
  • Conduct research on markets, clients, prospects, and investment topics to strengthen both client engagements and business development.
  • Grow independence over time, managing client requests and relationship responsibilities as experience and capability develop.
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in investment management, consulting, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFA designation (or aspiration to pursue) preferred.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with demonstrated ability to evaluate portfolios and capital markets.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with cross-functional working skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools; experience with portfolio analysis software a plus.
