About The Position

Selene Finance is seeking a Senior Assignment Specialist who will be a dedicated resource for one of Selene’s largest clients. This individual will lead and manage a variety of collateral related duties, with a strong focus on assignments of mortgage. The ideal candidate requires collateral related knowledge of default servicing practices, assignments of mortgage, document custodian workflow, and a general working knowledge of other collateral related topics.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years assignment of mortgage experience.
  • Strong data manipulation skills through excel (required)
  • A demonstrated willingness to learn and add value to existing processes based on established work experience
  • Solves problems with a sense of recognizing opportunities, understanding risks and acting quickly to overcome obstacles and reach a solution.
  • Must be detail oriented and consistently maintain a high level of quality and accuracy in their work.
  • Work product must be consistently reliable and accurate.
  • Multi tasker in a constantly changing, fast paced environment
  • Familiarity with the various aspects of collateral management and how collateral requirements change across various trading programs (non-agency whole loan, agency whole loan, GNMA Buyout MSR, etc), a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work with the client’s collateral management team to fulfill collateral curative initiatives inclusive of day-to-day operations and special projects (as needed)
  • Manage the pipeline, workflow, and relationship of multiple document custodians and collateral vendors
  • Create, support, and manage collateral workflow in partnership with Selene’s Asset Management team
  • Manage the logistics of the overall collateral workflow including coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and identifying and implementing process improvement solutions.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of open collateral tasks against document custodian and collateral vendor reports
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, servicers, and vendors to identify procedural changes and system enhancements where needed; recommend operational improvements and assist in implementation
