About The Position

The Senior Area Sales Manager (ASM) at GE Appliances is responsible for leading and managing sales activities within Northern Washington and Alaska. This role focuses on driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and optimizing the customer experience across Retail Independent Dealers and National Accounts. The ASM will oversee the entire sales lifecycle, including merchandising, sales training, and pricing strategies, while ensuring exceptional brand experience and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience, preferably in the appliance or retail industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to work effectively from a home office.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Represent GE Appliances by selling and promoting appliances to both national accounts and independent retail customers in the assigned territory.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, developing tailored marketing strategies to expand sales in the region.
  • Collaborate with customers to create merchandising/promotional strategies that drive sell-through and enhance account profitability.
  • Develop and deliver on sales and margin operating plans, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Analyze sales performance using quantitative expertise, including generating ROI reports, margin analyses, and scenario planning.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling product training presentations and materials to drive sales associate effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, acting as a trusted advisor and resource.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and accurately, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for account inquiries, operational issues, and strategic discussions.
  • Create and maintain detailed status reports tracking activity, follow-ups, and progress toward sales goals.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership to inform sales strategies and performance improvements.
  • Travel regularly to customers within the assigned territory, ensuring a consistent in-person presence.
  • Conduct 2-3 annual trips to Alaska to manage and grow relationships with accounts in that region.
