About The Position

Senior Architectural Engineer – Federal Healthcare, Danville, IL ($100k-$130k) Immediate need for a Senior Architect/Engineer to support long-term federal healthcare projects in Danville, Illinois. This position provides technical oversight, design coordination, and construction compliance monitoring in support of federal medical facility operations. Duties and Responsibilities Review and validate project scopes, schedules, and deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual requirements Serve as technical liaison between the Government, medical center personnel, contractors, and design consultants Monitor construction activities to ensure conformance with approved drawings, specifications, security requirements, and applicable codes Conduct engineering analysis, design development reviews, and preparation of plans and specifications for new construction and renovation projects Provide multidisciplinary technical oversight to ensure compliance across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil systems Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and design modifications for technical adequacy and contract alignment Conduct site assessments to determine existing conditions, operational impacts, and phasing requirements within active medical environments Document findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions in accordance with federal reporting standards Coordinate project staff and consultants to ensure timely completion of deliverables

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (required)
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in both design and construction in US, including medical facilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal contracting environments and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and standards
  • Ability to interpret and enforce contract documents, including front-end specifications and technical drawings
  • Experience implementing project management principles in accordance with federal performance standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for technical reporting and government correspondence
  • Experience supporting federal healthcare agencies (e.g., VA medical facilities)
  • Familiarity with infection control risk assessments (ICRA) and healthcare phasing requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
