The Senior Architect, Data Governance will lead the design and stewardship of database solutions that support business operations, reporting, analytics, security, and long-term data management needs. This role will evaluate current systems, tools, and usage patterns to define database structures and governance approaches that align with organizational objectives. The Senior Architect, Data Governance will also support database performance, system reliability, user enablement, and adherence to data governance standards and protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in database design, data maintenance, database security, database management, and data governance.
  • Experience with requirements analysis and analytics.
  • Ability to present technical information and provide training.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze internal operations, applications, programming, objectives, current systems, tool sets, and current and future usage patterns to determine database structural requirements.
  • Understand, follow, and contribute to data governance standards and protocols.
  • Design database solutions by defining proposed systems, database physical structure, functional capabilities, security requirements, and backup and recovery specifications.
  • Support database system implementation by developing flowcharts, applying access techniques, coordinating installation activities, and documenting actions.
  • Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development issues, calculating parameter values, evaluating and integrating new releases, completing maintenance, and responding to user questions.
  • Use tools that support access to existing data stores for processing, reporting, and analytics.
  • Prepare users through training.
  • Provide database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
  • Maintain current knowledge through professional development, publications, networks, and professional organizations.
  • Contribute to broader information systems and organizational goals through related work as needed.
