About The Position

We are 29,000 strong and operate 1,500+ pet care centers in the U.S., Mexico, and Puerto Rico, including 250+ Vetco Total Care hospitals, hundreds of preventive care clinics, and eight distribution centers. This position involves ensuring that all aquatic life in the Pet Care Center (PCC) receives appropriate care by adhering to operational guidelines, completing aquatic maintenance, assessing aquatic life health, and creating Companion Animal Incident Reports as needed. The role also includes training programs to maintain expertise in aquatic care, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience working with and/or caring for freshwater and marine aquatic life.
• High level of knowledge of aquatic life and aptitude for sales techniques.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Genuine interest in animals and their care.
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in Petco Animal Care training programs.
• Proficiency in mathematics and basic accounting relationships.

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate care for all aquatic life in the PCC by adhering to operational guidelines and procedures.
• Complete all aquatic maintenance and assess aquatic life health and conditions.
• Create Companion Animal Incident Reports as needed.
• Complete and apply training programs to maintain expertise in aquatic care.
• Effectively place aquatic life orders and special-order requests.
• Act as a primary resource for guests and other PCC partners regarding aquatic education and care.
• Participate in physical inventory counts of aquatic life.
• Collaborate with the CAL to analyze inventory management data and recommend improvements.
• Ensure aquatic life and merchandise are stocked, priced, and displayed properly.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks such as aquarium system maintenance and cleaning.
• Accurately complete required digital paperwork in a timely manner.
• Utilize selling behaviors to provide an amazing guest experience.
• Contribute to a safe environment by maintaining safety protocols.
• Engage in career development programs to support continued growth.
