Halvik is seeking a highly skilled Senior Applications Programmer to support the analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, and delivery of custom and framework‑based software solutions. This role requires strong expertise in front‑end scripting and markup languages as well as deep proficiency in Visual Basic .NET, C#, and the SSOM object model. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with technical teams and government stakeholders to ensure products meet mission needs with accuracy, integrity, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in application development.
  • Proficiency in Visual Basic .NET, C#, and the SSOM object model.
  • Demonstrated experience developing in staged or pre‑production environments.
  • Strong background in structured testing, documentation, and version/release management.
  • Ability to create high‑quality technical and end‑user documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, including direct customer interaction.
  • CompTIA Sec+
  • Active Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related technical field.
  • Experience working in government or DoD environments (if applicable).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint development, enterprise architecture, or related technologies.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze system and user requirements; design, code, test, debug, and document custom applications and front‑end components.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive work breakdown structure (WBS) and project schedule including milestones, reviews, audits, quality checks, and customer acceptance testing.
  • Perform development activities within a non‑production development environment, including work in pre‑release or staging environments that closely mirror production systems.
  • Provide technical consulting and support for establishing and sustaining development and staging environments.
  • Develop software using Visual Basic .NET, C#, and the SSOM object model.
  • Conduct rigorous testing to validate accuracy, integrity, interoperability, completeness, and performance of all code; document test results thoroughly.
  • Produce clear documentation for each release, including release notes, technical manuals, feature descriptions, code comments, and bug‑fix details.
  • Create end‑user documentation such as training guides, how‑to articles, FAQs, and portal wiki content.
  • Support the Government in preparing training materials, demonstrating new features, delivering user manuals, generating test data, and developing scripts to meet training objectives.
